Designed by Dieter Hofrichter, Askan Slim is a serif font family. This typeface has eighteen styles and was published by Hoftype.


Askan Slim is the perfect complement of the Askan family.
Both have the same design features, cap-height, x-height, descenders, and ascenders in common. It is a moderately condensed version of Askan and works superbly in combination with Askan or independently for space saving applications.
Like Askan,  Askan Slim consists of 18 styles and is well equipped for advanced typography. It comes in OpenType format with extended language support. All weights contain small caps, ligatures, superior characters, proportional lining figures, tabular lining figures, proportional old style figures, lining old style figures, matching currency symbols, fraction- and scientific numerals, matching arrows and alternate characters.

The family comes in 22 weights, ranging from Haiirline to Black with extra drawn italics and small caps versions, and each style contains more than 700 glyphs. The Regular and Medium weights are perfect for body text while the extra drawn Italic gives an interesting texture to the text. The lightest weights work well in subtle headlines while the heaviest ones are perfect for posters, short texts, web, branding and screen design.
