Designed by David Kerkhoff, Gobsmacked is a brush display font family. This typeface has two styles and was published by Hanoded.


Gobsmacked is a rather new English word. It has been around since 1959 and was used mostly around Liverpool at that time. The word means: ’astounded’, ‘flabbergasted’ (another nice word!) or ‘speechless’. Gob could be of French or Scottish Gaelic origin and means ‘mouth’.

Gobsmacked font was created using a brush and black gouache. The result is a very eroded, very legible and quite unique brush font. I have created alternates for the lower case letters, plus two double letter ligatures (oo and ss).

Use it for any design that needs a little brushwork; I am sure the result will leave you gobsmacked!

Designed by Alan Meeks, Winterfell is a serif font family. This typeface has three styles and was published by Alan Meeks Collection.


It is difficult to define the classification of Winterfell.

The caps are definitely Roman however the lowercase is italic and slightly calligraphic.

Because of its old style look I decided to describe it as modern medieval.

This design reminded me of Game of Thrones hence the name Winterfell

A really, really long time ago, I watched a movie called ‘The China Syndrome’ (starring Jane Fonda, Jack Lemon and Michael Douglas). It was one of those disaster movies that were quite popular at the time (I also recall airports, alien viruses and skyscraper fires). Anyway, when I finished this font, I suddenly (and quite inexplicably) remembered that movie, so I named this font after it.

China Syndrome is a legible brush font - ideal for your product packaging and halloween posters. Maybe use it for a metal album cover, a book about nuclear disasters or, dunno, the logo of your really strong coffee brand.

Whatever. Just enjoy!

Magdelin is a minimal yet warm gothic sans serif typeface consisting of 40 fonts with normal and alternate families. At its core, the design is a gothic sans having simple forms and low contrast, yet it takes some qualities from the humanist class with its calligraphy or cursive-inspired details found in the italics and the bowl shapes of characters like b and d. The weights range from thin to black.

The small x-height, longer ascenders and descenders, and semi-condensed proportions give it a bit of a vintage or classic feel while still appearing contemporary and modern in current typographic landscapes. The clean design allows it to be a useful and versatile workhorse family great for branding, packaging, editorial, books, websites, digital, and more.

With the alternate family (Magdelin Alt) comes even more calligraphic details by having certain strokes terminate with an angle so it reflects a broad-nib pen drawn at an angle. This increases the overall warmth in appearance.
