[yjrdg] Download Privilege Sign Two JNL fonts from Jeff Levine Fonts

Privilege Sign Two JNL
Designed by Jeff Levine, Privilege Sign Two JNL is a display sans and retro font family. This typeface has two styles and was published by Jeff Levine Fonts.

Unique and decorative signage for many drive-ins, motels, food stores and other businesses of the 1940s had what was referred to as “privilege signs” provided by one of the major cola brands.

Consisting of the brand’s emblem on a decorative panel, the remainder of the sign would carry the desired message of the storekeeper (such as “Drive-In”) in prismatic, embossed metal letters.

Inspired by the Art Deco sans serif style of those vintage signs, Privilege Sign Two JNL recreates the type design in both regular and oblique versions.  The typefaces are solid black, but adding a selected color and a prismatic effect from your favorite graphics program can reproduce the look and feel of those old businesses.

This is a companion font to Privilege Sign JNL, which recreates the condensed sans serif lettering of other privilege signs from
the 1950s and early 1960s.

Built in 1928 in Wichita, Kansas, the Uptown Theater started out as a movie house, but today still exists as a dinner theater.

Online images of this vintage venue’s perpendicular wall sign show the theater’s name in an Art Nouveau influenced angular style with rounded terminals – similar to that of pen drawn sign lettering of the era.

Adapted as a digital type font, Silent Film JNL is available in both regular and oblique versions.

A 1930s travel poster from American Airlines had the airline’s name in a classic thick-and-thin Art Deco design of hand lettering.  With the addition of angular spurs, some of the characters become semi-serif in nature.

This type style is now available as Travel Plans JNL, in both regular and oblique versions.

Village Hall JNL
Designed by Jeff Levine, Village Hall JNL is a retro and western font family. This typeface has two styles and was published by Jeff Levine Fonts.

A 1918 poster issued during World War I from the YWCA encouraged women to pitch in to the war effort by joining the “United War Work Campaign”.

The Art Nouveau hand lettering of that poster was a slight throwback to the “Western” or “Victorian” style of typography because of the characters having split serifs.

This is now available as Village Hall JNL, in both regular and oblique versions.

[lloqi] Download Bihext fonts from Ingrimayne Type

Bihext
Designed by Robert Schenk, Bihext is a display and novelty font family. This typeface has two styles and was published by Ingrimayne Type.

The letters of Bihext fit into the trapezoids formed by bisecting hexagons from the top corner to the bottom corner. Because these trapezoids have two orientations, there are two sets of characters and the typeface was designed assuming that the user would want to alternate these two character sets. The alternating of characters is done automatically with the OpenType feature of contextual alternatives (calt) in applications that support it. The typeface is monospaced with very tightly letter spacing. If the letter spacing seems too tight, consider alternating colors to make the individual letters stand out as an alternative to loosening the letter spacing. Almost certainly the user will need to adjust line spacing if more than one line of text is used. The family includes an outline style that can be used in a layer above the filled style. A decorative, display face, Bihext is too difficult to read to be used for long text.
